Which way to the beach?

Lil'daddy wanted me to go surfing so we picked up a longboard and headed to the beach! The boy even helped carry it! ... I caught a wave in (albeit on one knee) but by then lil'daddy had lost interest and was playing in the sand. Tomorrow I will try to catch some morning waves before the kids wake up and hopefully before any T-storms.

Sunsets

This photo was taken yesterday. We had dinner about 50 yards from this spot. For a change of scenery, this is not so bad. :)

Sandcastles

Yesterday lil'daddy couldn't wait to use his sand toys despite the drizzle. The beach was empty and the sand didn't seem to bother the boy at all.

Making Lists...

I love making lists. I like seeing it all in front of me, crossing things off and feeling the sense of accomplishment of completing a list. I also have a tendency of driving my sweet husband crazy with my lists. Two days before my scheduled c-section, I made a 20-point list of items that needed to get done before giving birth (last minute nesting rearing full force!). Some of the things were necessary, such as "pay bills" and "empty cat litter". Others were a little more flexible, like "fertilize plants" or "hang up blinds in baby room". I think a few items were insane given the time period -- did I really put "clean out rain gutters" or "paint fence" on that list? I don't remember, I may have... If so, they didn't get done in those last few days.

I started my list-making again yesterday, with a "Thursday To-Do list". It included items like "pick up car from servicing", "food shopping" and "make list for upcoming event". Big Daddy just laughed at me -- he thought it was hysterical that I needed a list to remind me to MAKE A LIST! I love it... I then thought to myself, I hadn't yet taken my vitamins for the day. I added "take vitamins" to my list, got up, took them and enjoyed the sweet satisfaction of crossing that item off my list.

Sleep, glorious sleep!

Lil Bro slept from 9:00 pm to 4:30 am last night!!! Woo hoo!! I felt rested and refreshed when he woke up at 4:30, isn't that insane?? He woke up, ate and then we both went back to sleep until 8:30 am. Please, please let us this become a new cycle.

Growth Spurt #1 for Boy #2

Lil Bro seems to be having his first growth spurt. By this, I mean that he's eating every hour or so (very hungrily so) and seems to be filling out and gaining weight by the second! I remember this pattern a bit from Boy #1, it should pass in another day I hope. I have to try to get Lil Bro's weight and we'll post some updated pics. At four weeks, my lil baby is already growing up too fast.

Flashback with Gilad

My official post partum start to exercising has begun. After a few attempts with my Yoga Burn DVD, I popped in my Gilad Cardio DVD this morning. Nothing like good old fashioned cardio, 45 minutes worth. I bought the DVD last year, but I knew it was an older recording by the spandex leotards that the girls were wearing -- does anyone wear that stuff anymore? But I had to laugh when there was a close-up of their footwork and I saw that Gilad and his crew were wearing LA GEARS! Remember those? And yes, the girls were wearing white socks, with a SECOND pair of socks that matched their leotard belts. Flashback!
