Science Night

Big Bro and I went to his school's Family Science Night tonight. Lots of fun, easy-to-execute experiments for the kids to enjoy. One of them was constructing a "telephone" from dixie cups and yarn. Construction required punching a hole in the dixie cup with a skewer, to enable threading the yarn. My eager boy picked up the cup, picked up the skewer, and punctured through the whole with too much force, causing the skewer to skin his left palm. A stinging moment for sure, amplified by Big Bro's fear of seeing his own blood. We left a bit after that, licking our wounds on an otherwise enjoyable evening.

On the way home, Big Bro was having quite a pity party. "I can't do anything without my left hand.. I eat with my left hand, I write with my left hand.. Sometimes, I hold scissors in my left hand".

Trying to add levity, I asked (gross, yes..) "Which hand do you use to pick your nose"?

Thoughtful silence...

He answers "I guess it depends on which nostril".
