I have to get a cheap usb keyboard (maybe wireless so he doesn't yank the computer) before I let him loose on the blog!
The funny thing is how he spelled cookie from sounding it out. I'm not sure exactly when he learned the correct spelling but one day, about a month ago, I spelled it out loud to mommy and the boy heard it from the next room and came running looking for his cookie!
btw- I can't get him to write much on paper but he does spell and is getting the idea of forming full and proper sentences.
He does like to use the keyboard. I'm happy about his vocabulary and beginnings of grammar but a little sad about the jump to keyboard and his resistance to pencil and paper. There's a whole graphite/crayon/ink visceral dirty hands experience I wouldn't want him to miss. I suppose it is harder and hence frustrating for him to try to control the pencil/pen/crayon but he gives up too easy! I've seen him write letters and words. He prefers not to.
I'll keep gently trying but I'm not about to try to drill him or go over-board. He has plenty of time! He likes to read and spell and I'll continue to try encourage him in a positive way.

What a lovely first post!
(Please tell me he didn't type the first bit himself--or did he?!? You have such a bright boy!)
I did the blog title, the content is his.
