Ugh! x 2

I'm not sure how much longer we can NOT put pressure on him to use the potty. I thought the peer pressure at school would work on him. He is fully aware that there is not even one other boy or girl in his class that is still in diapers. He watches the other boys and girls line up to use the potty. He, on the other hand, goes into the "baby" room to use the changing table. He's OK with all this. We've regressed back to diapers from pull-ups. (He says he wants to go back to wearing pull-ups but he does not even want to try to use the toilet.) I'm not at wits end yet but ...

I hate New Years resolutions but why not use today as an excuse to redouble our efforts!

As we say in the business world, perhaps John Anthony needs to "get his skin in the game." Since there is no downside to not trying, why try? I think making the case that you need him to move into the potty training world is a valid one at his age (he can understand you and can say when he needs to go, etc.)

My proposal: leverage something he really likes against trying. For instance, make it clear that playing Guitar Hero or other video games is contingent on 1) trying at regular intervals to use the potty 2) wearing underwear at home, etc. He can still refuse, but then he misses out on something he likes.

Just a thought. We had no problem training Jack. ;)
