New flash - Lil Bro !

Lil Bro rolled from back to tummy today. He was in his crib and we heard him start to cry. Big Daddy went in to check up on him and found him on his tummy. Apparently Lil Bro was no so happy about the development!

And as noted in a previous post, he's a thumb-sucker. Interestingly enough, he's favoring his left thumb. Big Bro is a lefty - what are the chances of having two southpaws? I did some quick research on Wikipedia: Left-handedness is relatively uncommon; 87 percent of the adult population is right-handed.  Only time will tell.

Yet Another B&N Trip (pic)

We still love Barnes & Noble! lil'daddy is really enjoying the Magic Tree House series lately. lil'bro just sat on my lap and watched all the boy and girls reading their books. He was SO good. lil'bro just sat looking around while lil'daddy read about two and a half chapters of The Knight at Dawn! We are tremendously blessed with both lil'daddy and lil'bro but and an extra prayer of praise and thanks are due for bestowing lil'bro with the type of demeanor that would allow him to just sit and "hang out". I know this time will go quick. What a blessing it is now!

Running Around D.C. '08 (vid & pics)

One might recognize the Washington Monument in the background...

Lil'daddy loves to play Wii when visiting his pop-pop. Recently, he loves playing "Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games". Notice the block start at the beginning of the video, the slow motion finish as he crosses the finishline (about 10s into the video), and the following victory dance! After that I'm not sure what events he's doing???

Sightseeing the National Mall was fun! Lil'bro was fine as long as he had a timely bottle, a dry diaper and not too much sun in his eyes. I felt a little bad for Lil'daddy at the Air and Space Museum because he wanted to see the Skylab exhibit and walk through one of the airplane displays and these exhibit/displays were not so stroller friendly. We did get to see the White house, The National Aquarium, The National Museum of Natural History, The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, The National Air and Space Museum, The National Gallery of Art and of course the Washington Monument. From the National Mall we were able to see the Capitol Building and the Lincoln Memorial. There's more that I would've liked for us to see but I'm happy with what we were able to cover in 2 days!

Lil'daddy was great as far as wanting to see so many attractions. He and I wanted to do a double decker bus tour on our second day but the buses we saw had standing room only! That was not going to happen with two kiddos and a stroller! It was bad enough that our Metrorail return trip to the hotel the previous afternoon was standing room only during rush hour. (On that second day we caught a later, non-rush hour, train!)

While exhausting (did I mention that we drove to D.C.), I think the trip was a success. Lil'daddy's favorite attraction was a toss-up between the Museum of Natural History and the Air & Space museum. -a slight edge probably to the Museum of Natural History because of the Ben Stiller movie "Night at the Museum". If you're familiar with the movie..., lil'daddy wanted to "throw the bone" and "lock up the lions". I think a trip to the NYC Museum of Natural History will be soon to follow. -side note- a good thing about the D.C. museums is that most have free admission. I don't think that'll be the case when we visit some of the NYC museums.

Here are some other random pics from our trip...

We're back.

We just made it back from a several day trip to the Washington DC area. I had to go down on business ad Big Daddy and the boys came with me. BD took the boys to several of the National monuments and museums. Lil Daddy loved the Space Museum, though he was a little disappointed that he couldn't go in a few of the exhibits because they had the stroller with them. I think BD has some video forthcoming of the trip, it is hysterical!

For Lil Bro, this trip was necessary so baby could be with mommy and continue nursing. My freezer stock is running very low and it has been very hard to get any milk back in the freezer. We just made it to the three month mark of exclusive nursing. Let's see if we can get to the four month mark now...

Favorites... a quick post.

Lil Bro's favorite thing these days is his thumb. He wasn't interested in his pacifier from day 1, we tried a few different brands and several times. Now he has found his thumb, much to his comfort when he is sleepy.

Big Bro's favorite thing these days seems to be scotch tape. I find tape in all sorts of odd places, including the back of my pants, under the table, on the side of the child gate, etc, etc!
